Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

By using this website or engaging Experts Self Publishing (“we”, “us”, “our”) for services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Website use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use this website for lawful purposes. Site content, including text, graphics, and emails you receive from us, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights belonging to Experts Self Publishing or our licensors.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works from our content except as permitted by law or with our written consent. You agree not to use the website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, or disruptive — including spam, impersonation, hacking, or posting offensive or infringing material.

Your responsibilities

When you contact us or register for services, you agree to provide accurate and current information. You are responsible for all content you submit (manuscripts, images, briefs, feedback) and confirm you have the right to share it with us.

You must not upload or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, obscene, or contains viruses or malicious code. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

Services and delivery

We will use reasonable skill and care to deliver the services described in your quote, proposal, or statement of work. Timelines are estimates unless a fixed deadline is agreed in writing.

We are not liable for delays caused by your failure to provide materials, feedback, or payment on time. If we cannot reach you by email, phone, or other agreed channels for 30 consecutive days, your project may be marked inactive. Reactivation may require a reinstatement fee at our discretion.

Intellectual property

Upon receipt of full payment, you own the deliverables created specifically for your project (for example, cover artwork, formatted files, or marketing assets), subject to any third-party licences embedded in stock elements we disclose to you.

You retain ownership of your manuscript and original creative work. We may retain copies of project files for record-keeping and support. Pre-existing tools, templates, or methods we use remain our property.

Original work

We create original work for each client brief. Any resemblance to existing designs is unintentional. You are responsible for securing copyright or trademark protection for your final published work where required.

Warranties

Except as expressly stated in your service agreement, services are provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Refund policy

Refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis according to the stage of your project. The following principles apply:

  • Before work begins: If you cancel before initial concepts or drafts are delivered, you may qualify for a full refund minus a 10% administration and processing fee.

  • Within 48 hours of first delivery: You may be eligible for a 66% refund (less 10% administration and processing fees).

  • 48–96 hours after first delivery: You may be eligible for a 33% refund (less 10% administration and processing fees).

  • After 96 hours: Refund requests are generally not accepted once initial work has been delivered and reviewed, though we will always try to resolve concerns through revisions where appropriate.

  • Approved or revised work: Once you approve initial drafts or request changes, the project enters the revision phase and refunds are no longer available for that stage of work.

  • Final files: No refunds are offered after final deliverables have been released.

  • Inactivity: If you are unresponsive for 5 working days during an active project, or 7 working days overall, refund or restart options may be limited. Restarting a paused order may incur additional fees.

  • Bundles and discounts: For bundled or discounted packages, refunds apply per service line. Approved or revised components are non-refundable. Promotional or discounted sign-ups may have separate refund restrictions as stated at purchase.

  • Good faith: Refund eligibility assumes orders are placed in good faith. Parallel orders with multiple providers for the same work, made primarily to claim refunds, may be declined.

  • Time limit: Refund requests must be submitted within 30 business days of the relevant delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Change of mind: Refunds are not offered solely because of a change of mind after work has commenced.

All refund requests must be sent to our support team. We reserve the right to approve or decline requests based on project status, brief alignment, and these terms. Where a brief has not been met, we will prioritise revisions before considering partial refunds.

Payment terms
  • A non-refundable deposit is required to start most projects unless otherwise agreed.

  • Outstanding balances must be paid in full before final deliverables (print-ready files, ISBN registration, or launch assets) are released.

  • Additional services or scope changes may incur extra charges, payable before the new work begins.

  • Projects delayed by non-payment beyond 7 business days may be suspended. Reactivation requires settlement of pending amounts plus any reinstatement fee.

  • If payment obligations are not met, we may terminate the agreement without delivering remaining work. Amounts already paid may be retained to cover work completed and resources allocated.

Disputes and communication

Please raise payment or delivery concerns promptly so we can resolve them. Unresolved disputes notified in writing may be escalated after 14 days. Both parties agree to communicate professionally and not to make defamatory public statements about each other during or after the engagement. Breach of this mutual respect clause may result in damages as determined by the non-breaching party.

How to request a refund

Contact us with your order details and reason for the request:

We will review your request against our revision and refund policy. If a refund is approved, rights to unreleased work created by us may revert to Experts Self Publishing, and you may not use unreleased drafts or concepts provided during the project.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or lost-profit damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in that jurisdiction shall have exclusive authority over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
